Leaving church and finding Jesus Update -Part 2

The thing that concerns me the most about what I went through at my old church was why they misrepresented their position on Emergent and Lectio Divina with me?
I gave them a out.
I let them know if they wanted to promote this practice that was fine I would just go my own way.
Many church like all the chanting and conjuring up God stuff.
They told me they were not into promoting this practice.
They were not truthful with me.

As their own junior high website shows.

I must have missed something in this meeting or not understood what they said when they said they were not going to endorse Lectio Divina in the church or go the Emergent path.
Again another church meeting resulting in people walking around in a state of huh.
All I have to say is what Jesus would say to this occult practice of chanting scripture and trying to conjure up a experience with God.

Matt 6:7
"7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. "

And for those promoting the practice to young children I offer you these words from Jesus and I suggest you take this to heart.

Mark 9:42
"42 But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea."

Now on to the rest of this article-
The Emergent movement is being targeted to pastors on a large scale through mailings and various conferences.
The National Pastors conferencee should be re-named The National Pastors Emergent Indoctrination Briefing.
Check out this link and who is teaching-
http://www.nationalpastorsconvention.com/content.aspx?sp=emergent

Here is why I think many pastors are biting on this.
The church has been turned into a business rather than what God intended the function of the church to be as pretty much laid out in the book of Acts.

Big business takes a lot of money to run.

This all started out with entertaining the seekers through the Slick Rick and Bill show.

Seekers (the unsaved who remain unsaved -and thats a whole other article because our churches are filled with them now)
get bored so you had better bring something else new in to entertain them more.
And even after that they will get bored and move on.

The people in the buildings are starting to get hip to what's going on.
There are still a few discerning Christians occupying the church buildings and they are starting to ask questions.
They are either forced out.
Ignored.
Or dealt with heavy handed and hushed into silence.
The church also pays out a lot in salaries now.
Is some discerning pastor or church staff member going to oppose the hand that feeds them.
Most will not because to some its their only source of income.
Very dangerous place to be.
But you know what.
It doesn't matter because people are still leaving these houses of fraud in droves.

And the exodus will continue and the preachers and pastors will do whatever it takes to save their buildings, individual dynasty's and salaries.

Because you see its no longer about Jesus or what He whats.

It's about keeping the big man-made machine rolling.

And do you know why this is happening?
Scriptureexplainss it in Matt 13:37-43
"37 He answered and said to them: He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.
39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.
40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,
42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

I believe the Emergent's agenda is to tear down and apart scripture which is our only authority and Gods only truth.
And they will try to tear down the atonement the very reconciliation of God and man brought about by the sinless life and brutal death of Jesus Christ on the cross.

Here is a quote from Dallas Willard on page his book"The Spirit of The Disciplines" page 33
"Once salvation is relegated to mere forgiveness of sin, though, the discussions of salvations nature are limited to the death of Christ, about whicarrangementsts involving Christs's death make forgiveness possible and actual. Such debateyieldld "theories of the atonement."
This book was written back in the 80's and is now making a comeback and used in seminaries as well.
The mere forgiveness of sins- what a insult to our Lord who paid a great price so all who believed in Him would be saved.

Here is also what they will do in your church perhaps.
Rename the rituals and things when people get hip to them.
Perhaps they will say they don't practice Lectio or Contemplative prayer but they will still do the actual ritual. Which is all it really is no matter what you want to call it.
Some may not go public.
Sanctum at my old church was not promoted on the main church calendar, the church's monthly newsletter (where other junior high activities were promoted) or the church calender on the website which featured the other junior high activities. You have to go onto the junior highs own website( which is seperate from the main church website).
There on the focus junior high calendar you can find this Sanctum dates.
If all this being promoted to junior high age children through Sanctum is ok why not let the whole congregation know?
I'm not even going to speculate and try to answer that one.

Anyway my focus will be hitting this Emergent thing hard and getting out as much information to you as I can.
I'm seperating myself from this destructive path which threatens even young children.

You will have to decide where you stand!
