The Gospel?

I just finished watching a movie titled "The Gospel."
Now I love Fred Hammonds music as well as Kirk Franklin.
They are both very talented musically and I love the way they put a song together.
So the music was great.
The movie though was spiritually shallow.
They sang a lot about Jesus and God and had many uplifting parts in the movie.
Most of the scenes were shot in a church.
Never once was the Gospel of Jesus Christ mentioned-ever.
Kinda odd for a movie titled "The Gospel."
The tagline of this movie is "See it! Live it! Spread it!"
To which I would just say.
See what?
Live what?
Spread what?
Since the gospel was never given.
Good soundtrack but don't expect anything of spiritual substance here.
Also because of some scenes I was suprised to see that the movie got a PG rating.
It did have a nice Prodigal son type theme.
But for a movie titled "The Gospel" you would not know who Jesus really is or know what the gospel is by watching this movie.
Perhaps it was not there intention to present the gospel.
Silly and sad isnt it?
