Who is Leading you into all Truth Part 5-Seeking God's will?

Most of us grow up in homes with fathers. Even though these days its not always the norm. But most all of us have had someone who raised us.
Was there ever much question what their will for us was?
I grew up in a home with a ex-Navy special forces guy was my dad.
I love my dad even though he was very strict there was never much question on what his will for me was.
As well as my mom.
It was spelled out what chores we had to do and how our rooms were to look everyday.
Anything extra and above this was spelled out and expected to be complied with without question.
Could you see yourself trying to reason with your parent on why you should not clean your room.
Not enough time.
My brother Chuckie messed it up.
It is clean (according to my standards).
And the excuses and rationalizations go on.
I used em all.
Never worked and there was always a price to pay for lack of obedience.
Now I want to state before going any further that I am as guilty as any of you in refusing to obey my heavenly Fathers will, just as I rebelled against my parents.

Hebrews 12:9 "9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

My point in this article is going to be its really not that difficult to figure our God's will for your lives. Its just our own rebellion often masked as good intentions that stand in our way.
As the series states it is the Holy Spirit that leads us into all truth once we are saved and born again.
John 3:5-7 "5 Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again.
You no longer children of satan but children of God when you are born again. And there are no inbetweens here you are either children of God born again through Jesus Christ, or you are children of the devil.
1John 3:1-13 "1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure 4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brothers righteous. 13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you."

So once we are born again we become children of God. We have a new Father. Is it so difficult to know His will for our lives?
Only if we make it so.
Christianity in general here in America and our fruit is really A.D.D (Attention Deficit Disorder)
We have gone out on so many bunny trails and tangents real Christianity is becoming a gray blur.
Does that change Gods will for our lives?
No of course not.
How do we find God's will.
Alone in scripture.
Sola Scriptura.
Not through spiritural disciplines that are not even taught in the Bible. (More on that later).
Is Gods will so complicated that we won't figure out what it is?
No.
The one and only thing you need to know is that-
You must become less-
So He can become more.
There is no other way- no matter how many self help feel good books and devotionals you read.
The only way to know Gods will is to submit to His will and read His word.
What does God want us to do?
1. Spread the gospel of Jesus Christ ( read the New Testament).
2. Don't depend on men depend on God
3. God wants us to work.
MINI RANT- Christianity has been made such a viable commodity in America people are flocking to make it rich of Christianity.
You want money? Go start a church or write a book or figure out some new exciting way to sell Jesus.
It makes me sick.
that'shats why so many of our pulpits are filled with men (and women) who have no business being there.
4.God wants us to fellowship together
Hebrews 10:25"25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
And yet these days we want to follow the unbiblical ways of some Catholic monks who forsook the assembly and were alone out in the desert.
Ahh strange but true.

So the next time your asked to pray about giving to a building find rest assured that there is nothing in the Bible about giving to build a bigger building. You don't even need to pray about that one.
Its not Gods will.
So are you seeking to do God's will or are you seeking to to great things for God?
John 16:2-3
2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. 3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.
Acts 26:9-11-the apostle Paul speaking-
"9 Indeed, I myself thought I must do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. 10 This I also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them . 11 And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities."

Do we always obey?
Sadly no myself included.
And yes I know many of you have been kicked out of purpose driven churches. But the reason for that was that purpose drivenbuiltbulit on the foundation of Peter Drucker and other worldy business marketing ideas and plans.
It was not built on the foundation of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:10
"10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it."
Anyone who needed 15 different Bible versions to make their point was doing just that. MAKING THEIR POINT.
