No Bad Language Kids
I recently posted on Dan Kimballs Vintage Faith website. I'm glad Im able to moderate my comments and I want to add that I won't tolerate anyone using bad language here. I'm really sorry I have to even say this. Some kid from Dan's website used the f word in a post replying to a topic here.
Whatever happened to becoming a new creature in Christ?
What ever happened to having the mind of Christ?
Have I ever used the f word?
You bet I have and Im not proud of it.
The thing is I don't use it anymore.
Its funny how these kids will not swear on Dans website but will on other folks blogs or websites.
So I guess I gotta post a warning to all you Emergent kids.
No bad language!
If you disagree with me that's fine.
You swear in a post and it doesn't get posted and your point doesn't get made.
Don't make me come to your house and wash out your mouth with soap!
Again I truly am sorry for the grief that Kyle Lake's family is going through.
You probably do not believe that. And its ok if you don't.
That doesn't change what really happened.
This is the fruit of the Emergent church.
Kids who are rebels who are taught occult techniques to get a quick what they think is a God thrill. And they are taught that they can be a Christian and keep the world to.
Well they are wrong.
And like I stated on Dans site.
Do you Emergents believe that all paths lead to God?
So again keep it clean or your comments don't get posted.
We are going to act like grown ups here.
If you want to cuss do it on Dans site.

Tim... Do you really think that experience is not valid? I will disagree with you on that point... experience IS valid... we weren't created just to read about God but to experience Him in relationship.
Yes, experiencing Him through His written Word. Are there not other experiences? Do we not see this in the Bible? Didn't Paul experience God on the road to Damascus? Didn't the disciples on the road to Emmaus experience him in relationship?
Do some people go way off the deep end? Yes. I know a lady who was caught up in Lectio Divina who went way off the deep end... but I also know very Spirit-filled Christ followers who have incorporated parts of Lectio Divina in their spiritual journey.
However, generalizing EVERY emergent/pentecostal/whoever in the same category as a demonic nutball goes deeply into the arena of judgment.
Tim, where is the love of Christ in your writings? I've looked through many of your articles... you're quite busy pointing out the errors of the Emergent church that you forget to mention how much you still love them and pray for them.
I've read through many of your articles and am finding it difficult to see any trace of love or healthy burden for these Emergent Church goers... just quick condemnation (the Kyle Lake articles and even your blip in this shows that you are blaming the Emergent church for his death).
Tim, I know that Love is not a new concept for you... after all your blog title is "The Simply AGAPE Project Ministry".
I've read through your articles and postings and am very deeply concerned for you. I know you are a fellow member of the Body of Christ and I'll be praying that God will really open your eyes to Him in a fresh way... that your relationship with Him will go deeper than it ever has before.
Hi: No I think experience is valid. But God initiated the experience every time. Paul was not praying Lectio before God knocked him off his horse. Paul was in total rebellion against God.After Paul didnt say lets keep this Damascus road experience going. Lets have people go blind for time.
Paul was turned back to the scriptures not to desiring another experience.
2 Timothy 3:16 states " All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, throughly equipped for every good work.
The rituals practiced by the Emergent church do not have origins in the Bible but in paganism.
Thats bottom line what you are involved in no matter how you want to spin it.
I have dealt with a youth pastor in the church I go to who wanted top spin Lectio in a perhaps watered down way.
But it is what it is no matter how you want to dress it up.
And as we can see from the above scripture, the word of God is all we need.
It doesnt mean God will not initiate a experience with you. But it does mean that God can not be conjured up or manipulated into a experience with you.
God initiates the experience-not you.
Saying someone went way off the deep end in Lectio is like saying someone went off the deep end practicing witchcraft.
There is no safe or middle ground here for the practice.
Is it wrong to meditate on the word of God?
No, of course not.
Is it wrong to just be still and wait on the Lord?
No.
I strongly suggest that Emergent church folk reject using the word of God to try to initiate some kind of God experience.
Study to show thyself a approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.(2 Timothy 2:15)
Emergent church folk are trying to initiate the experience show me one time in scripture where a ritual was performed to initiate a experience with God.
All your rituals have roots in Hinduism and Buddisim. Thats where the Desert Fathers got there practices from-the Gnostics in Alexandria who got their rituals from the East. Thats just a fact of history.
If you are a saved Christian God is already there.
I want to ask.
Do you believe that a path other than Jesus can lead to salvation and going to heaven?
As for the love I understand where you are coming from and I want to add that I pray and encourage others to pray that you will come out from the Emergent church movement, burn the books you have read on their rituals, and repent and come to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Its hard to see love when you are being rebuked.
But its still love.
I have other things I could do with my time.
But I do love you folks and would love to hear of your testimonies once you have left the Emergent church and rejected the ways created by Dan Kimball, Brian McLaren, Leonard Sweet, Sally Morganthaler and a host of others who are bringing the New Age into the church.
And for the record I do not blame the Emergent Church for Kyle Lakes death.
Kyles death was God's call and His timing.
When God is being called the Suprise Meister do you think that pleases Him?
One last comment.
Think about what you stated " I'll be praying that God will really open your eyes to Him in a fresh way... that your relationship with Him will go deeper than it ever has before."
My relationship with God through Jesus Christ is deep enough to see what you are involved in is wrong-thats why it's being exposed here.
A fresh way?
Let me answer that with scripture.
Heb 13:8-9
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them."
The food you are eating was rejected (even by the Catholic church in early history) in the early days of the Desert Fathers, in the 15 century by Martin Luthor who eventually rejected the ways of the monk. And its being rejected now by those who still believe that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way.
Maybe you should reconsider what you are involved in.
But it is your choice.
tim, are you sexually frustrated? i can think of no other reason as to why you would dedicate an entire blog (your life?) to bringing down Emergent. wouldn't you be living a more effective life if you instead simply chose to live out christianity in the way that you think is right, as opposed to tearing others down?
now, are you man enough to allow this comment to go through, since i didn't "cuss", or are you some sort of internet gestapo?
p.s. thanks for dedicating this post to me! my only regret is that i only used the "f" word once.
I let MOL junior post go bye so you can see the fruit of Emergent. And no MOL Im not frustrated in any way.
And for the record Im not trying to bring down the Emergent Church. The Emergent church will go its course and help bring New Age religion into the church I can't stop that read the New Testemant and Matt 24 about the end times. I just want to warn people Emergent is not of God and then people will have to choose for themselves.
Also Im not just focusing about Emergent. Just have did a string of topics on them lately. My book Pass The Plate is about Word Fath church and I have went into PDL and seeker driven quite a bit here.
Again folks read MOL juniors comments thats typical of Emergent fruit. There are posts that won't hit the light od day here because they are either just plain immature or cuss.
If you Emergent folk are saved dont you want to change?
You talk a lot about love but if you swear, watch R rated movies, dont change, whats the point of being a new creature in Christ.
I know change takes time but do you still want to be like you were in the past?
Does your life honor Jesus.
Jesus said "If you love me obey my commandments."
What does that mean to you.
You can't have your cake and eat it to.
What does one do with a cake that he can't eat? It would take up space in the refridgerator until it eventually went bad and had to be thrown out.
Tim,
I decided to post here instead of on the link to Paul Proctor's article regarding Kyle Lake.
I'm not in the emergent crowd - I attend a Bible church, although I admittedly have friends involved in the emergent movement. There are without question times when I disagree with some things said in emergent circles.
But here's the thing, Tim, and there's just no way of getting around it.
I don't know if you're married or have children, but if you did, and one of them died in a freak accident, would you want someone to tell you and and many others via the "magic" of the internet what your loved one thought or felt about life based on one conversation?
Would you want them to tell you how your loved one was way off base, and insinuate that God took their life as a result?
I doubt it. And if not, then there's hope for you, Tim. Hope that you have the ability to do a little introspective soul searching and come out a better man. Because as it stands right now, Tim - you're a coward.
I know you don't think so. I know you believe you're calling out syncretism and relativism and spitting out lukewarm believers. But the truth is that behind this vast wall of pixelated space you can type whatever you want and not really be held accountable. You don't have to talk to Kyle's wife or his three kids face to face about what you posted. And that's the real tragedy here. Even my comment here is pretty worthless, but I'll type it anyway because it makes me feel better defending the defenseless.
But you go on, Tim. Go on and keep on spinning in your giant circle of fundamentalism and literal truths around the same friends day after day. Don't dare go out into a world of different believers and sinners with the same kind of care and compassion that Jesus did.
Heaven forbid, you might come across people grieving, people inclined to drop a cuss word or two or question God in the wake of emotional devastatation. Heaven forbid you might enter into the world of Psalms.
And perhaps most important, your computer might get lonely without you.
