Truth is sometimes weirder than fiction
As I was reading through last months Wittenburg Door magazine I came across a satrical article called "The Church of Entitlement" . It had a comment about churches having wine and cheese before the evening service. So just for fun I did a Google search on this.
Here are my findings.
These excerts are all from churches.

Evening with the Madrigals
Pajama Party (my comments-they do not say if the Pajama Party is coed or not)
-This event will benefit the Cedar Springs Waldorf School. You can expect a lovely evening including wine tasting of three local wineries the first hour, appetizers, dinner, dessert, entertainment, raffle and silent/live auction. Beer and wine will be available for a additional cost. 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Holy Trinity Church
-The Worship & Music Committee is seeking "creative people" to develop homily skits for the 9 a.m. service
Verse and verse. The sermon for the 4th Sunday in Advent was written and delivered by Lou Hays entirely in rhyme. It begins: "Twas the day before Christmas and all through the church, not a creature was listening, leaving Lou in a lurch . . ."
Wow and we thought the followers of Rick Warren and Bill Hybels are carnal

Waldorf's education philosophies have roots firmly planted in theosophy. All of a piece, eh?
