One of the reasons I did not mention names in my book was to make the point that the big league teachers affect what goes on at the local church level.
When I was in Amway they called this duplication. If you wanted to be successful you duplicated the efforts of someone who was making tons of money.
And hey thats what it's about a lot these days in church isnt it?
Money and how big your building is.
Hey dont criticize what God is blessing right?
The first church I played in was a Rod Parsley church plant.
If Rod was preaching it would be a standing room only event.
But when Rod was not in the house his perversion of scripture and idiosyncrasies were still very present.
Again duplication.
Preachers look at the financial wealth of preachers like Joyce Meyer, Rod Parsley, Rick Warren and Bill Hybels and think if I duplicate their efforts the pay off will come and my career will fly.

Musicians are a big part of the blame here.
Good players often flock to the big house's because they know its a good paying gig.
Check your doctrine at the door though we dont want to touch Gods anointed.
All this for a paycheck.
Sometimes though the music is great.
I personally know musicians who would dog the pastor backstage after playing worship music.
I know because I was one of them.
And that was zero discernment and the worse kind of compromise.
I knew the doctrine was wrong.
But I ignored it because I played with such great players.
God forgive me for that!

One other thing I didnt cover in the book was this.
The Holy Spirit jams.
Just like the lame music that came out of Smithton and Brownsville false revivals.
Two and three chord lame, uninspired, poorly played jams.
How many of you have ever been involved those kind of jams.
Whether it was Cindy Jacobs promoting her musicians into another awful fire song off the cuff.
Or Glen Berteau from Calvary Temple in Modesto, CA promoting his worship leader into the Pentecostal two step(you know the bass line do-do do-do-do-do do yes lots of do-do).
To whip people up into a frenzy and pretend God is there in power and then go for your wallets.
This is uninspired and lousy playing and is a insult to the Holy Spirit.
It doesnt matter what level you are at.
Whether you are on T.B.N.
Or trying out for T.B.N.
Its all the same deception.
What about the musicians favorite Bible to quote from?
In my experience it has been The Message.
No wonder musicians dont have any discernment if they are reading The Message let that be your first clue they are not a faithful Berean.
If your worship leader quotes from that Bible call him or her on it.
But be prepared to pack your gear after exposing him or her.
The Message in a Gnostic, New Age version that perverts the very Word of God.
I dont have time or space here to even go into that.
Do a search.
Do I sound upset?
Well I am.
But Im more mad at myself for being a willing part of this deception all for the sake of a good gig.
Dear Lord I am so very sorry.
What does God think of all our fleshy nonsense.
I believe the book of Amos speaks to this.

Amos 5:21-24
"21 I hate, I despise your feast days, And I do not savor your sacred assemblies.
22 Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, Nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings.
23 Take away from Me the noise of your songs,For I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments.
24 But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream.

Amos 6:3-7
" 3 Woe to you who put far off the day of doom, Who cause the seat of violence to come near; 4 Who lie on beds of ivory, Stretch out on your couches Eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall;
5 Who sing idly to the sound of stringed instruments, And invent for yourselves musical instruments like David;
6 Who drink wine from bowls, And anoint yourselves with the best ointments, But are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
7 Therefore they shall now go captive as the first of the captives, And those who recline at banquets shall be removed.

My fellow musicians remember that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17)
This is by hearing the word of God through preaching not through a song sang.
Romans 10:14-1
"14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
15And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
Even though music can be used in other ways to honor God.
So what do we have since so much emphasize has been on music instead of the word of God.
I believe again that the book of Amos speaks to this.
Amos 8:11-14
"11 "The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD, "when I will send a famine through the land not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
12 Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD but they will not find it.
13 "In that day "the lovely young women and strong young men will faint because of thirst.
14 They who swear by the shame of Samaria,or say, 'As surely as your god lives, O Dan,' or, 'As surely as the god of Beersheba lives' they will fall, never to rise again."

Dear ones flee the apostate church before its to late and you are handed over to great delusion from which there is no turning back.

2 Thess 2:11-12
"
11For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie
12and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness."
