Follow the Leader
It's really sad to see the state of affairs in the Body of Christ today.
Im not sure if guys like Robert Schuller and Rick Warren really ever followed Christ but I believe men like David Jeremiah and John Piper did.
And I hesitate to speak in the past tense but lets look at the facts.
Well actually lets look at a couple of Old Testament verses first.
Jeremiah 10:21 "For the shepherds have become dull–hearted, And have not sought the LORD; Therefore they shall not prosper, And all their flocks shall be scattered.
Jeremiah 12:10 ""Many shepherds have ruined My vineyard, They have trampled down My field; They have made My pleasant field A desolate wilderness.
Jeremiah 12:13 "They have sown wheat and have reaped thorns, They have strained themselves to no profit. But be ashamed of your harvest Because of the fierce anger of the LORD."
These verses reflect the fruit of guys like Rick Warren and his followers but its really a shame to now see David Jeremiah promoting new age thoughts and ideas. The very things he used to speak out against.
And John Piper who now promotes and endorse the cussing pastor Emergent leader Mark Driscoll.
Ok sorry that Im not articulate here but Pipers discernment on his choice of speakers sucks (It probably did attract a crowd which for sure turns into some more money for Pipers ministry)
The Emergent church really seems to be making headway into the Reformed/Calvinist camp.
Sad.

As sad as it is to see these preachers venture away from the truth I am reminded to keep my eyes on Christ so I dont sink into the water as some are starting to do.
We also need to continue to pray for these ministries that The Holy Spirit will them back into truth and Gods Word.
The lure of money in a soft economy is a hard one to turn down and popular (but false) preachers are often use to raise the crowds.
Sometimes crowds followed Jesus.
But at the same time sometimes crowds turned away when Jesus's message was not popular.
So dont fall for the latest fad remember.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
Dont ever try to rely on your own wisdom to keep from getting fooled by the enemy.
Throw yourself on Gods grace and mercy.
Follow Christ first, read your Bible.
And when your leader or pastor stops following Christ and being an example like Christ was.
Well stop playing follow the leader.
