Rick Warren- Crazy Like A Fox (TV)

It seems as if Rick Warren of Saddleback Church is pastor to the owner of Fox TV, Rupert Murdoch and it is clear as to what influence Warren has had on Murdoch's smut television network easily the worst of the lot. One has to wonder what Purpose Driven ideas Murdoch is getting from Warren.

"What communion has light with darkness?"- 2 Corinthians 6:15. If Murdoch is a believer why hasn't he altered the style of the Fox network to reflect that? We would think that Mr. Murdoch is a heavy tither at Saddleback and keeps Warren in the green!

There used to be a show called "Crazy Like a Fox" starring the late Jack Warden. It wasn't on Fox; too clean I'd guess?

I find the content of your blog to be an interesting contrast. The title says "agape", yet I find all manner of agape lacking in any of the words I've read that you've written about Rick Warren.

Though I'm certainly not a Warren disciple, I am encouraged that he's actually pursuing things that bring the love of Jesus and the resources of our world to bear on the needs of those in third world countries.

When Christ proclaims that judgement will come and that all will be seperatd in the sheep and goats, what is the criteria he states? Did you feed me when I was hungry? Did you clothe me when I was naked? Did you give me a drink when I was thirsty?

Last time I checked, Warren was promoting these things on a scale that few other pastors have been willing to do.

ANONYMOUS, i agree with your point to some extent. Rick and Saddleback are not beyond criticism, just like the rest of us. However, without Rick it makes you wonder what blogs like this would do all day long. I have traversed the posts here and elsewhere on other blogs and have yet to find something positive about anything at Willow or Saddleback. The title of this site should be "The Simply Critical Project Disguised as Discernment Ministry".

Or the title of the previous two comments ought to be about the blind being led by the blind. How many times do you have to whiff a skunk before you know it smells? But there is one good thing about Saddlebrook. They have clean rest rooms and at Willow Creek the cappucinno is the best.
