Con men and women, false teachers fill the Body of Christ with their lies and false teaching Part One

The groups I am part of as well as many emails I get as well as others who are leaders in these groups often ask where to find a good church because they left their last church because of heresy and false teaching. Thats a really good question. And if you turn on the television and radio these days you can plainly see that heresy and false teaching fill the pulpits today. I would say a fair guess is that out of the most popular book sales and popular television shows 98% of them preach and promote heresy.
This article is not going to be about finding a good church. In this rapid falling away from Christianity I would hesitate to suggest a church because you could not be sure that what they would be teaching in a month would be solid biblically based Christianity.
Most people would agree with the fact that we are probably in the endtimes that would soon bring the return of Christ.
Before that happens a antichrist (a person) will show up proclaiming he is Jesus himself.
How do I know this?
Scripture teaches that.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-17

New King James Version (NKJV)
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin[a]is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God[b] in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He[c] who now restrains will do so until He[d] is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

It has come to the time in history where unsaved men and women who  proclaim to be Christian are filling the pulpits and deceiving many.

In Matt 24:24 it states-
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Dave Hunt and TA MaMahon of the Berean Call makes these comments

 Dave:
You mean, could a believer be a false prophet?  False Christ?  No.  I don’t think so.  I think…
           Tom:
Or could they be deceived by false prophets?
           Dave:
I think a true believer could be deceived.  But, what I think it means is, and as this writer indicates, not permanently.  In other words, you might deceive a person for a moment, but I believe that if they stick with the Word and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, they are not going to be deceived for long.  It says, “so much that if it were possible even the elect would be deceived.”  Therefore, I don’t think it is possible, ultimately, to deceive the elect.
           Tom:
Dave, we’ve been talking about the deception and delusion for months now just going through your book Beyond Seduction.  And, there’s so much more that’s happened since then, that seems to indicate that people have been drawn off to these false teachings and false ideas.  Maybe not false Christs, per se, but certainly anti-biblical or issues that are contrary to the Word of God.
           Dave:
Well, Jesus makes it very serious here.  And, as you know, He mentions this three times. And, this is in response to the question from the disciples, “what will be the sign of your coming and of these things?”  You know, the destruction of the temple and of the end of the world.  I think He’s talking about the nearness of His return and the very first thing, it has a list of a number of things, wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, pestilence, famine, etc., ethnic group rising against ethnic group, which certainly is true today.  But, they come later.  The very first thing He says is, “before, or take heed, that no one deceive you.”  And, then three times He repeats it about false Christs and false prophets, warning that this is going to happen.  And, I think that we live in that day.  No doubt about it.  And, He warns, in Matthew 7, well He says, “many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name?  In your name we cast out devils.  In your name we did miracles.”  He says, “I will say, I never knew you.”  So, they were never Christians.  And, yet, apparently they passed for Christian leaders who were seemingly doing signs and wonders.  And, you know that’s big emphasis today.  Signs and wonders.  And, then Paul uses the same language in II Timothy 3:8.  He says, “As Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.”  So, he is warning us again, and in fact he begins that chapter, chapter three, “in the last days dangerous times shall come,” and it talks about loving ourselves, etc.  So, I think that this is a very serious warning from the Lord.  We have to heed it.  And, are there false prophets out there?  Definitely there are.  And I think in relation to this, Acts 20, where Paul tells the elders at Ephesus, “that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.”  So, Paul took this so seriously that he’s warning them, he is weeping.  I often say to people, not often, but when I’m on the subject, I say, “look, some people accuse me of being a fanatic, just pounding away on error, warning about error, warning about apostasy, I haven’t even begun to be concerned compared with Paul.”  He wept and warned day and night for three solid years.
           Tom:
Dave, there was no Christian television, no Christian radio, no Christian media, and the reason I’m bringing that up is because we’re inundated by all these false ideas through these different media.  Yet, Paul, you know, he wasn’t dealing with any of those.
           Dave:
But, he was very serious and very concerned, and perhaps then my level of concern ought to rise.  The level of concern of people out there ought to rise.  He writes to the Corinthians, you know, that he’s concerned, lest as Satan deceived Eve they should be led astray and embrace another Jesus instead of the real Jesus.  Tom, it’s happening in the church, and I think we should be concerned.  We need to pray about it and we need to stand against the error and stand for truth and rescue as many as we can.end comment
So how can we tell if its God speaking to us?
The only real way is to search what is being said with God's word.
Thats hard to do in an ever-growing world that teaches the Bible is full of error.
What parts do we believe are true?
Only those that deal with salvation?
Well for one scripture teaches that it is true.
For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty (2 Peter 1:16).

  1. THE BIBLE IS AN INERRANT BOOK.
  2. If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came; and the Scripture cannot be broken (John 10:35).
What does Jesus mean when He says that the Scripture cannot be broken? It is a reference to its continuing truth. There will never come a time when we say, "Ooops, the Bible really said the wrong thing when it came to that passage." Notice that He says this with reference to what could have been considered a problem passage to the Jews (Psalm 82:6). The point is that even such problem passages show no cracks in the trustworthiness of the Bible, but rather are only indicative of our own lack of understanding.

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14 He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you. (John 16:13-14).
With these words, Jesus promises that He would send the Holy Spirit who would direct the apostles in the communicating of God's new covenant teaching.

Hopefully I do not need to convince you that Gods Word is true and without error. If I need to do that please don't read any further.
And even when I write something you need to check it against God's Word. If what I write does not agree with God's Word I would encourage you to be a good Berean and reject it. But check it against Gods Word to your own intuition or something you think God is speaking in your ear since God no longer speaks to us today outside of scripture.

      This sets the article up.
So can we tell if its an unsaved person preaching to us or just a conman or woman?
I would say its not difficult to tell if a person is saved or unsaved.
      Scripture teaches that

      Matthew 7:15-16

      New King James Version (NKJV)

You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
Many claim and attribute demonic activity to the work of the Holy Spirit. They did this with Brownsville, Pensacola and Toronto supposed blessings.
This is the unpardonable sin against the Holy Spirit as noted in scripture in
Matt. 12:22-32 says, "Then there was brought to Him a demon-possessed man who was blind and dumb, and He healed him, so that the dumb man spoke and saw. 23And all the multitudes were amazed, and began to say, "This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?" 24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons." 25And knowing their thoughts He said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself shall not stand. 26"And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? 27"And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Consequently they shall be your judges. 28"But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29"Or how can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. 30"He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. 31"Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.32"And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come,"
If you attribute the works of satan to that of the Holy Spirit you are treading on very bad ground to say the least.

No. A believer cannot commit the unforgivable sin. How can someone who has been born again (John 3:7), made a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17), and received eternal life (John 10:27-28) actually commit the unforgivable sin? He cannot. Jesus Himself said that we have eternal life, not conditional life: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand" (John 10:27-28). Besides, it says in 2 Cor. 5:17 that the Christian is a new creation in Christ. We are different, no longer slaves to the old nature (Rom. 6:14). We are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
There is no biblical support for a believer committing this sin. It just hasn't happened. Also, if you are worried that you may have committed the sin and can't be forgiven, then don't be concerned. If you are worrying about it, then you haven't committed it. If you are worried about it, then that is a sign that you have not committed it. If you had, you wouldn't be concerned.
If a man or woman preaches a false gospel you would think that they themselves believe what they preach.
If they believe in their own false gospel they are not saved.
So in the next article we will see what the true gospel is and what some of the false gospels are today as well as do the spiritual gifts of tongues and prophecy as well as words of wisdom and knowledge still exist today/
People claim to that God is still speaking to them today and they know the difference.
      Really?
How can you be 100% sure it is God speaking in your ear.
We will explore all this in the next article.
